John Burroughs Elementary School is an award winning Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) focused school located in Ward 5 of the District of Columbia. We know how important an excellent education is for your student. Our goal is to make each student's experience exceptional. Nestled in the heart of the Brookland community, JBES has very strong community support from our parents, neighbors, community based organizations, and our friends in local law enforcement; in addition to the adjoining DC parks and Recreation field where our students explore the world in our outdoor classroom.
